Twilight Activism!

You can say what you want about Twilight. Personally, I'm a Twilighter (or, if you prefer, Twi-Hard) myself. But you know it's a good craze when it's stars are using their fame for activism, or when the movie itself can be used for activism. Here's some clips of some PETA2 ads from Twilight/ New Moon! click on the link below the pic to see the full size of the pic.

Guests. . .

I love my sister's boyfriend, okay? He's been one of my best friends since 6th grade. But he's been at my house for 72 hours straight! I wish he would just go home already! "fish and visitors smell in three days" . . . .

The Twilight Saga: New Moon review

If I was asked to sum up New Moon in two words, I'd say "F*cking Fantastic!"

No, seriously, it's that amazing! It was so close to the book, that me and my best friend were able to sit in the theater and recite the lines! (or atleast guess them). Everything was just amazingly done. Everyone looked exactly as I'd imagined them. The wolves were amazing looking! Huge! and Volterra and the meadow looked great! My friend complained that the meadow in Twilight looked nothing like what he'd imagined it, but the meadow in New Moon. . . exactly what he'd seen in his head! The only line they left out of the movie that I'd wished they'd kept was from the scene in which Jacob goes into Bella's room to tell her to guess what he was and that he was sorry. He's in the tree, and Bella asks him what he's doing. In response, he says, "keeping a promise." so bella says, "When did you promise to kill yourself by falling out of Charlie's tree?" They left that bit out of the movie. Only thing I wanted to see that they left out. Maybe it'll be an extended scene on the DVD. . . .

But honestly, if you see one movie in theaters this month, see New Moon. It's got the girly romance [well, hot shirtless Taylor Lautner anyway ], and tons of fight scenes (okay, only like 3 major really, but awesome anyway)! It's got something for everyone, except maybe kids under 12 or 13. I give it 2 "fangs" up!

Soundtrack to My Suicide part 2

Here is the track listing as of right now, based on what's in my ipod. I highly doubt it'll stay this way. lol. and yeah, I realize it's in alphabetical order. It won't be when I finalize it! No idea what the soundtrack even is? read the previous post!

  1. "Decode" -- Paramore
  2. "Girl Next Door" -- Saving Jane
  3. "I'm So Sick"-- Flyleaf
  4. "I Like" -- Katy Rose
  5. "Imaginary" -- Evanescence
  6. "Innocence" -- Avril Lavigne
  7. "Iris" -- The Goo Goo Dolls
  8. "Jesus of Suburbia" -- Green Day
  9. "Leave Out All the Rest" -- Linkin Park
  10. "Letters From the Sky" -- Civil Twilight
  11. "Losing Grip" -- Avril Lavigne
  12. "Me Against the World" -- Simple Plan
  13. "Pain" -- Three Days Grace
  14. "Second Chance" -- Shinedown
  15. "Stand My Ground" -- Within Temptation
  16. "Untitled" -- Simple Plan
  17. "Welcome to My Life" -- Simple Plan
  18. "21 Guns" -- Green Day

In the final listing, I anticipate a little less Simple Plan, and a little more Green Day. And I'm pondering "Breaking the Habit" by Linking Park, but since I haven't broken any of the habits the song makes me think about. . . . Idk. And I'll most likely end up with ICP's "Juggalo Family" in there. Oh, and there will probably be more "Goth" songs on the finally. Like the HorrorPops. and Rasputina, Ministry, Lacuana Coil, Smashing Pumpkins, Love and Rockets, ect. This might turn into a 2 disc situation. . . .

Soundtrack to my Suicide part 1

To understand the point of the post, scroll down. It's beneath the lyrics. Otherwise, you'll just be really confused.

Iris by Goo Goo Dolls

And I'd give up forever to touch you
'Cause I know that you feel me somehow
You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be
And I don't want to go home right now

And all I can taste is this moment
And all I can breathe is your life
'Cause sooner or later it's over
I just don't want to miss you tonight

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming
Or the moment of truth in your lies
When everything feels like the movies
Yeah you bleed just to know you're alive

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am

yeah, yeah, I know, a Goth girl who listens to the Goo Goo Dolls? Let the criticism rain! I don't care. I may be Goth, but guess what, I'm not a music snob. There is soooo much more to being Goth than the music scene. Goth is a perspective of the world and a way of life. And as one of my adult Goth friends told me, the way to know who the real Goths are, and who are the Wannabes is to go to a Goth club and wait for some mainstream music perferably rap/hiphop (they get the best results) to be played by the DJ (and yeah, they do that.) The people who snub the music, say "that's not Goth!" and walk off the dance floor are the wannabes. Those ones who are on the dance floor, singing along, dancing, and having a blast with their fellow dark-siders, those are the real Goths. okay, the singing part might be an exageration, but the dancing and having fun part isn't. Real goths listen to what they want, when they want, because guess what, they know they're goth, and anyone who tells them otherwise is ignorant. anyway, on to why I posted the song. . .

I adore this song. This was the very first music video I ever remember seeing as a kid. No, really. I was like 6 when I seen it. okay, maybe I saw Thriller first, but you get the point. I've been inlove with this song for over 10 years. The lyrics always had alot of impact on me, but now it seems to hit me harder. I don't know why. one of my fave lines is "When everything feels like the movies, yeah you bleed just to know you're alive." I love that. okay, maybe it's a super emo line, but I know what it's decribing. And I have the physical, emotional, and mental scars to prove it. And of course, who doesn't feel something when they listen to the chorus? Gods, everyone's had that feeling atleast once in their life. And I've decided it makes a great song for the Twilight Saga.

The main reason I'm posting the song, is that I'm finally getting around to putting together my "soundtrack" for my life (the working title of which is The Soundtrack to My Suicide due to my multiple suicide attempts. hey, I think it's clever anyway). I have 17 years worth of experience to try and compress into roughly 20 songs. It's definantly going to be an interesting experience! If anyone has any suggestions for songs ( you don't have to know me that well to suggest something. I tell almost anything important going on in my life on here.) let me know!

Dear Twilight Saga

Dear Twilight Saga,

I hate you, it's true. And I'm sure you're going to ask why since everyone else seems to either love you completely or hate you for shallow reasons that I could easily disprove. I hate you Twilight, because I am obsessed with you. I try not to, especially since Sparkly Vampires are an epic fail if I've ever seen one, and the story of werewolves vs vampires was already used (rather well) by Underworld. But nonetheless, I am Twilighted. And it is all your fault. So tomorrow, I will wear my Twiligh hat and gloves to school, along with my replica of Alice's choker. and at lunch I will be reading Twilight, then New Moon in a week or so. and on the 20th, at midnight, I'll be sitting in a darkened theatere to see New Moon. and it's all your fault. Just know I'll be hating you all the while. Because we both know we enjoy this love/hate relationship.

Sincerly,
Ella, the Monster Grrl

happy november

well, Halloween was kick ass as usual. my party plans got ruined, so i started trick or treating over half an hour late. so most kids had already gone through my 'hood. so, everyone was giving us like, handfuls of candy!

in contrast, today was rather awful. I woke up 3 hours late, and needed a shower and my clothes were in the washer still. on top of that, i'd missed the bus. then, when i went to walk around my house and try to get ready, everything kept falling on me. My younger sister was like "dude, I think this is a sign from god that you should go back to bed!" lmao. so that's what i did. I took a day off from school. and kinda liked it, cept now i have tons of homework. on the brightside, no school tomorrow either!
