Missing You

I’m trying so hard not to miss you
but you’re everywhere I look
from the evening sky
to my favorite book.
Friendship should last forever
not a temporary fling
But look at what broke us
look how much my friendship meant.
So I guess I’ll just be honest
I miss you
and I’ll never stop,
there’s nothing you can do.
It’s the one thing you can’t take from me
though I’m sure you’d try.
I’ll cling to the memories,
while they’re still mine.
